David G. Nini

David G. Nini is a Principal and founding member of Redfield Energy Partners.  

He has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years, with 25 years focused in A&D advisory.

David began his career as an independent petroleum landman, working contract projects for Exxon and UPRC. He also spent several years as a natural gas trader for Coastal Gas Marketing before joining Torch Energy Advisors in 1995 and moving to Canada to work in its newly acquired Gulf Canada division. He then returned to Torch’s Houston office to focus on upstream asset acquisitions and divestments.  In 2003, David co-founded and was Managing Partner of Lantana Oil & Gas Partners, which focused on sell-side transactions for private and PE-backed companies with $1.5 billion in closed deals. David sold Lantana to SunTrust Robinson Humphrey/Truist in 2014 and remained on board serving as Managing Director until 2020. Most recently, David joined Energy Advisory Group as a Partner where he focused on deal origination.   

David holds a BA in Public Relations/Marketing from Texas Tech University.  He has been active for 31+ years in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, a member of various boards including the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas, the Small Steps Golf Classic Advisory Board, and Helping a Hero (non-profit building homes for military veterans).  He is registered with Series 79 and 63 licenses.
