Malcolm Coleman serves as a Senior Advisor (Technical) at Redfield Energy Partners, bringing with him over 40 years of extensive experience in oil and gas engineering, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Throughout his career, Malcolm dedicated over four decades to BP and its predecessor, Amoco. In the initial phase of his career, he engaged in various engineering and commercial roles, focusing on drilling, primary, secondary, and tertiary production operations, along with prospect screening and economic evaluation. Following this, he spent more than 20 years as a vital member of BP’s Global Mergers and Acquisitions team. As a Project Manager, Malcolm oversaw a diverse range of projects, which included oil and gas, mid-stream operations, Canadian heavy oil, biofuels, and other renewable energy initiatives. His significant contributions include managing the disposal activities of over $60 billion following the Macondo incident, as well as facilitating BP’s $10.5 billion acquisition of BHP’s US unconventional portfolio in 2017. Malcolm holds an MBA from the University of Houston and a BS in Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a licensed professional engineer and real estate broker in Texas, and he also holds a US patent for unloading low-pressure gas wells.
