Taylor McClain is a Managing Director (Geoscience) at Redfield Energy Partners.
He has over 10 years of petroleum geology experience in upstream oil and gas and A&D advisory.
Taylor began his career with Chevron in the Appalachian Business Unit. He then joined Range Resources as a Geologist in 2013 where he served as technical lead for exploration and development in the Utica/Point Pleasant Play. At Range, he gained experience in operations geology, supporting its development program in the Southwest Marcellus Play, led efforts to improve recoverable reserves in the Marcellus and Utica through integration of petrophysical modeling and completions engineering, and built a geological model that led to the completion of the first successful Utica/Point Pleasant well drilled in Southwest PA. In 2018, Taylor joined UBS Investment Bank's A&D Advisory Group and served as Director and transaction lead for multiple buy-side and sell-side transactions in the Appalachian, Delaware, Midland, Eagle Ford and Haynesville Basins. He also has experience in the minerals space, advising on multiple buy-side deals, with an understanding of the key value drivers and unique ways of modeling them. He brings to the table a critical eye for adding value to assets by understanding how to unlock the rock through analysis of completions and production trends.
Taylor holds an MS of Geology from West Virginia University and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. He is registered with Series 79 and 63 licenses.
